Matviy Ponomarenko signs new Dynamo Kyiv deal through 2031

0
Dynamo Kyiv have secured the future of their young star Matviy Ponomarenko, with the 20-year-old forward putting pen to paper on a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2031. His previous deal was due to expire at the end of 2028. Ponomarenko burst onto the scene last season, breaking into the first team and finishing as the club's top scorer with 13 goals across all competitions. His performances naturally attracted interest from abroad, and rumours of a summer exit began to swirl. But the Ukrainian giants moved quickly. They offered improved terms, and the striker chose to stay put. “This is my home club. I’m happy to continue here,” Ponomarenko said after putting pen to paper. The forward also made his senior international debut for Ukraine last year, scoring in a World Cup 2026 qualifying play-off against Sweden – albeit a losing effort, as Ukraine fell 3-1.
