Oleg Fedor: ‘Draw against Copenhagen leaves bittersweet taste’

Polissya Zhytomyr midfielder Oleg Fedor shared mixed emotions after his side’s entertaining 3-3 draw with Copenhagen in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League second qualifying round tie. “The feelings are contradictory. On one hand, we scored, we didn’t lose, and we played some decent football. But there’s a bitter aftertaste – we had plenty of chances, myself included. I want to apologize to the team and the fans because at this level, missing those opportunities or making even small mistakes can be punished by opponents of this caliber. It could come back to haunt us. Still, we stay positive – the game gave us confidence and showed we can compete with such a renowned side. Of course there was nervousness – it was our debut at this level. I wouldn’t call it stage fright, but it probably showed in our actions. I’m grateful to the lads and the coaching staff for their support on the pitch. In the return leg, we need to correct our errors and go to Denmark with only a win in mind,” Fedor said on MEGOGO.
