Manchester United eye Camavinga and Berge as midfield hunt continues
0
Manchester United are not done reshaping their midfield this summer. According to The Guardian, the club is closely monitoring two potential targets: Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Fulham’s Sander Berge.
The Red Devils have already added two central midfielders in the current window – Andrej Santos arrived from Chelsea for £48 million and Youri Tielemans joined from Aston Villa for £35 million. However, Michael Carrick’s coaching staff is still looking for more firepower in the middle of the park following Casemiro’s departure and a long-term injury to Manuel Ugarte.
Camavinga features high on the list. The Frenchman is not actively seeking a move away from the Bernabéu, but Madrid might be open to selling if it helps them free up space for a potential Rodri signing. The 23-year-old still has three years left on his contract, which includes a €1 billion release clause. Nevertheless, reports indicate Los Blancos would consider bids in the region of €50-60 million.
A more affordable alternative is Sander Berge. The 28-year-old Norwegian is well accustomed to Premier League football after spells with Sheffield United and Burnley. His price tag is believed to be around £40 million.
United continue to evaluate their options as they aim to build a more balanced squad ahead of the new campaign.
