Newcastle Complete Signing of Monaco Midfielder Bamba

Newcastle United have officially completed the signing of 20-year-old French midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco, the club announced. Bamba has put pen to paper on a five-year deal and will wear the number eight shirt for the Magpies. The Monaco academy product cost Newcastle an initial €35.5 million, according to Transfermarkt. Last season, Newcastle finished 12th in the Premier League table with 49 points.
