Real Madrid enter the race: €100m bid for Diomande to beat PSG
0
Real Madrid have stormed into the transfer battle for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, lodging a formal bid with RB Leipzig. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants are determined to hijack the move from Paris Saint-Germain, who have been working on the deal for weeks.
The Bernabéu hierarchy sent an official request this week worth a total of €100 million - €90 million guaranteed plus €10 million in add-ons. Leipzig, however, turned that offer down flat. The Bundesliga side value their 19-year-old star higher and are holding out for a fee above the €100m mark. Despite the rejection, negotiations remain alive and active.
Real's move is a clear attempt to disrupt PSG's plans. The Ligue 1 champions have been in talks with Leipzig for some time and have had a full personal agreement with Diomande since June. Their stumbling block has always been reaching a deal with the German club - and now Madrid are trying to exploit that gap.
Diomande is aware of Real's bid and is monitoring the situation closely. Club-level discussions are expected to continue in the coming days.
Last season was a breakout campaign for the Ivory Coast international: 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances for Leipzig. He is under contract until the summer of 2030, and Transfermarkt values him at €90m. At this year's World Cup, Diomande has logged four appearances and one assist for the Elephants.
