Fiorentina Eyeing Juventus Outcast João Mário

Fiorentina have set their sights on Juventus full-back João Mário, who arrived in Turin just over a year ago for €12 million from Porto. The 26-year-old Portuguese defender was loaned to Bologna during the winter window but failed to secure a permanent move, and now finds himself surplus to requirements at Juventus ahead of the new campaign. Bologna couldn't agree on a full transfer, leaving Mário on the hunt for a new club. Fiorentina initially appeared to be waiting for clarity on the futures of their own defenders - Brazilian Dodo and Italian Niccolò Fortini - but local reports now indicate that the move for the Portuguese is being considered independently of those situations. Last season, João Mário made 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and adding one assist.
