World Cup hero Vozinha signs for Colo-Colo: Cape Verde goalkeeper moves to Chile

Cape Verde national team goalkeeper Vozinha, who became one of the biggest stories of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has found his new club. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the 40-year-old shot-stopper has agreed to join Chilean powerhouse Colo-Colo. The deal runs until the winter of 2028, and Vozinha is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before the move is officially completed. Vozinha entered the tournament as a free agent after his contract with Portuguese second-division side Chaves expired in July. Despite the lack of regular club football, he was instrumental in Cape Verde's fairytale run at their first-ever World Cup. The Blue Sharks reached the Round of 32, where they fell to Argentina 3-2 after extra time. Vozinha played all four matches and kept two clean sheets during the campaign. The veteran's performances not only earned him a move to South America but also turned him into a social media phenomenon. During the World Cup, his Instagram following exploded from a modest 50,000 to a staggering 29 million followers.
