Real Madrid agree €100m+ deal for Yan Diomande, beating PSG

Real Madrid are closing in on one of the most high-profile transfers of the summer. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants have reached a full and final agreement with RB Leipzig for Ivorian winger Yan Diomande. The fee is understood to be north of €100 million. All formalities between the clubs are set to be wrapped up next week. The 19-year-old made it clear his preference was Real Madrid, prompting Paris Saint-Germain - who had also pushed hard for the player - to pull out of the race entirely. Diomande is expected to fly to Madrid this week for his medical. Once that's passed, he will sign a long-term contract running until June 2031. Last season, the Ivory Coast international was electric: 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances for the Bundesliga side. He also made four appearances and delivered one assist at this year's World Cup.
