Inter Milan have sealed a deal to sign John Stones, the former Manchester City defender, as a free agent. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the two parties reached full agreement following a final round of talks this evening.
The England international will put pen to paper on a two-year contract running until June 2028, with no option for an additional season. Stones will earn around €4 million net per year in Serie A. All key terms are now locked in, and the 32-year-old is expected to travel to Milan imminently for his medical. An official announcement will follow shortly after.
Stones joined City back in 2016 and went on to become a club icon. Over his time at the Etihad, he made 295 appearances across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 9 assists. His trophy haul includes six Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup - completing the full set of major honors at club level.
At this year's World Cup, Stones featured in five matches for England. Though he did not play in the bronze medal match - a wild 6-4 victory over France - he still received his medal as the Three Lions secured third place.
