Cristiano Ronaldo steps into acting with new football drama series

Cristiano Ronaldo is adding a new line to his ever-expanding resume. The Portuguese icon will serve as executive producer and appear as himself in "Day 1s," a drama series that pulls back the curtain on the inner workings of British football. The story follows fictional super-agent Stanley Dalton, played by Damian Lewis - best known for "Billions" and "Homeland." Ronaldo's screen time remains under wraps, but his cameo is confirmed. Joining the cast are Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry, British rapper Dave, and actress Carlotta Banat. Filming has already begun at Barnet FC's stadium in northwest London. The series was conceived by Darren Dein, Henry's agent. Production comes from UR•Marv, the studio founded by Ronaldo alongside director Matthew Vaughn ("Kingsman," "Kick-Ass"). A release date hasn't been set, but a fierce bidding war among major streaming platforms is expected.
