Artem Smolyakov returns to Ukraine: Defender signs for FC Kharkiv

Artem Smolyakov has officially joined FC Kharkiv, returning to Ukraine on a loan deal with an option to buy. The defender, a product of Ukrainian football, has experience at the top level and has represented the Ukraine U21 national team, where he was considered one of the most promising players of his generation. On February 14, 2025, Smolyakov moved from Polissya Zhytomyr to a club in Los Angeles, but now he is back in his home country. Kharkiv expects the experienced centre-back to become a vital part of the squad and help the club achieve its objectives in the upcoming season. He will join training with his new teammates shortly and begin preparations for competitive matches.
