Turan: 'Bondar could play for any European club, but he stays with me'

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Arda Turan has heaped praise on defender Valeriy Bondar in an interview with the club's official TV channel. "Bondar is with me. He could play for any European club, but he will stay by my side and play for our team," Turan said. When asked which current player is ready to make the step up to a top club, the Turkish coach spread the credit across the squad. "It's very hard for me to name just one. I believe that right now 20 of our players could play for top European clubs. They have enormous potential. We believe in them and consider them very valuable to us. That's why they are here, with us," Turan explained. On transfer rumours surrounding Shakhtar this summer, Turan brushed off the question with a smile, noting that squad building is not his job and that he prefers to talk about his own work.
