Borussia Mönchengladbach Moves for Japanese Defender After Konoplya Injury

0
Borussia Mönchengladbach have been forced back into the transfer market before the window closes. Ukrainian full-back Yukhym Konoplya, who arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk over the summer, has suffered a knee injury that will delay his Bundesliga debut. The club acted swiftly to find cover on the left flank. Local media report that the Foals have agreed a loan deal with Slavia Prague for versatile Japanese defender Daiki Hasioka. The agreement runs for one season and includes an option to buy. Hasioka is expected to travel to Germany shortly for his medical and to finalise the move. The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Belgian side Gent, where he made 17 appearances. His adaptability and experience should provide Gladbach with a reliable option while Konoplya recovers.
