Official: Maxence Lacroix joins Chelsea from Crystal Palace

Chelsea have completed the signing of central defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace. The Blues made the move official after the 26-year-old Frenchman spent two seasons at Selhurst Park. Lacroix arrived at Palace in August 2024 from Wolfsburg and quickly established himself. Across 98 appearances, he scored four goals and kept 31 clean sheets. During his time with the Eagles, he lifted the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and the Europa Conference League. In the 2025/26 season, he also served as vice-captain. His consistent performances earned him a first call-up to the French national team in March this year. He went on to feature three times at the World Cup, helping Les Bleus reach the semifinals. According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee is €60.7 million.
