Karpaty thrash Kryvbas 4:1 in UPL season opener

Kryvbas could not have asked for a worse start to the 2026/27 Ukrainian Premier League campaign. Playing at Hirnyk Stadium in Kryvyi Rih on August 1, the home side took the lead but ended up on the wrong end of a 4:1 beating from Karpaty. Yan Yurchets converted a 22nd-minute penalty to put Kryvbas in front, yet the visitors answered from the spot deep into first-half stoppage time, with Ambrosiy Chachua making it 1:1. Karpaty took full control after the interval. Vladyslav Baboglo fired them ahead in the 57th minute, Yan Kostenko stretched the lead on 65 minutes, and newcomer Roman Vantukh capped the rout in the 72nd. Kryvbas will look to bounce back away to Zorya on Sunday, August 9. Karpaty, meanwhile, host LNZ on Monday, June 10.
