Mudryk heading to Chelsea's Hong Kong camp after ban is lifted

Ukraine midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk is on his way back to Chelsea after seeing his doping suspension wiped out. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old flew out to Hong Kong on August 2, where the London club is holding its preseason camp. Mudryk is expected to link up with Xabi Alonso's squad and immediately start preparing for the new campaign. Alonso has already made it clear that he counts on Mudryk and views him as an important part of the group. Chelsea will continue their Asia tour with a friendly against Juventus on August 5. Mudryk was sidelined from football in late 2024 after a positive doping test. He was initially banned for four years, but the ruling was successfully appealed. At the end of July 2026, England's Football Association and WADA lifted the sanction, clearing the way for the Ukrainian to resume his career.
