Napoli and Atalanta circle Esposito as Cagliari striker leaves preseason camp

Sebastiano Esposito's time at Cagliari looks to be coming to an end. The 24-year-old striker left the club's training camp after talks over an improved contract broke down, and according to insider Nicolo Schira, he will not join the squad for their preseason trip to Germany. Cagliari have responded by placing Esposito on the transfer list. The asking price is €20m, though part of that fee would still go to Inter, who hold a 40 percent sell-on clause. Napoli, Atalanta and Hull City are all in the picture. Atalanta have made the first serious move, offering €5m plus midfielder Daniel Maldini as part of the deal.
