Atlanta United opens talks with Romelu Lukaku

Atlanta United is working on a move for Romelu Lukaku, with journalist Sacha Tavolieri reporting that talks have begun over personal terms. The MLS club has made contact with the 33-year-old Belgian striker, but negotiations are still at an early stage. The interest is serious, as Atlanta looks to bring one of the most prolific forwards of the modern era to Major League Soccer. Lukaku has played for Anderlecht, Chelsea, West Brom, Everton, Manchester United, Inter, Roma and Napoli during his career. In the 2025/26 Serie A season, he has made five appearances for Napoli, scoring one goal and collecting one yellow card. Earlier reports indicated that Napoli would be willing to let Lukaku leave during the summer transfer window.
