João Mário set for Fiorentina loan as Juventus reach agreement

João Mário is on the verge of swapping Juventus for Fiorentina. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have settled on a loan deal for the Portuguese defender, with only the final paperwork left to be completed. The agreement includes an option for Fiorentina to buy the player outright, but there is no obligation attached. That gives the Viola room to judge his performances before deciding whether to make the move permanent. The 26-year-old is scheduled to take his medical on Monday. Once that is out of the way, the transfer is expected to be announced officially. In the 2025/26 season, João Mário made 10 Serie A appearances for Juventus and then moved to Bologna on loan in the winter, adding another 10 league games.
