Agent dispute threatens Yan Diomande's Real Madrid move

0
Yan Diomande's proposed transfer from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid has hit an unexpected obstacle after a falling-out between the agencies involved in his career. Maxidel Management, the company that previously represented the 19-year-old winger, has filed a complaint with FIFA against Roc Nation. The complaint alleges that Roc Nation violated the terms of an earlier agreement after Diomande came under its representation. To keep the deal alive, the parties could turn to a temporary license for the player while the agent dispute is resolved. Both Real Madrid and RB Leipzig want the transaction to be legally watertight, because paying commission to an unauthorized party could lead to financial penalties. Earlier reports said Madrid are prepared to pay up to €135 million including bonuses for Diomande, which would put the transfer among the most expensive in the club's history.
