Bernabéu Holds Pole Position for 2030 World Cup Final

0
The Bernabéu remains the leading candidate to stage the 2030 World Cup final. Journalist Anton Meana reports for Defensa Central that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) sees Real Madrid's home stadium as the priority venue for the title match. A revamped Camp Nou and Morocco's new Hassan II Stadium are both in contention, but the Bernabéu currently holds the strongest hand. Its major renovation, modern infrastructure and standing as one of the most recognizable venues in football all count in its favor. One issue remains unresolved: plans for a large fan zone around the stadium have drawn noise complaints from local residents. The 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with centenary opening matches also set for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Camp Nou, meanwhile, still has its sights set on the final and could land a heavy share of matches thanks to its greater capacity, particularly if FIFA expands the tournament from 48 to 64 teams. For now, though, no final decision has been made - and the Bernabéu continues to lead the race to host the showpiece.
