Lionel Messi has donated €80,000 to support recovery in Sierra Oeste, an area near Madrid heavily affected by devastating wildfires, Spanish media report. The money will be used to rebuild infrastructure and assist residents in the communities that suffered the most damage. The fires consumed nearly 30,000 hectares, making them some of the largest in the region in decades. This is not the first time Messi has backed a charitable cause. Through the Leo Messi Foundation and his work as a UNICEF ambassador, he has regularly supported projects in health care, education and disaster relief around the world.
