Bayern to give Urbig real minutes as Neuer loses untouchable status

Manuel Neuer will not have a guaranteed place in Bayern's starting lineup next season. The 40-year-old captain is planning to hang up his boots next summer, so the club is preparing Jonas Urbig to take over. The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived from Köln in early 2025, will be used in important matches as well as less demanding games in the coming campaign to get used to the pressure.
