Neuer sets retirement date: one last Bayern campaign

Manuel Neuer has decided when enough is enough. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper will play one more season and then retire, with his final bow planned for next summer. According to those close to the 40-year-old, the past campaign was the most enjoyable of his career, and he has no regrets about returning to the Germany national team. Neuer has decided to stay at Bayern for another year because he believes the club can win the Champions League and give him the kind of send-off he wants. There is also already a plan for life after Neuer in Munich. Jonas Urbig is expected to take over as the club's first-choice goalkeeper from the 2027/28 season.
