Neymar Under Fire for Taunting Remo After Santos Reaches Copa do Brasil Quarterfinals

0
Sporting matters from the Copa do Brasil meeting between Remo and Santos in Belém were pushed aside by Neymar's behaviour after the final whistle. The 34-year-old forward, who came off the bench in the second half and supplied the decisive assist for Roni, did not simply walk off. He made sure Remo's directors and coaching staff heard him, shouting "Out! Out!" as he moved toward the dressing room - a taunt aimed at their cup elimination. Remo president Antonio Carlos Teixeira was in no mood for diplomatic language when he spoke to Portal O Fluxo: "This was a great campaign for our club. And this scumbag Neymar, adored by a bunch of kids, was pulling his stunts here and still comes back to mock us. We are to blame for idolizing a bunch of scumbags like this guy." Santos advanced with a 1:0 aggregate victory, and Neymar, who has scored 80 goals for Brazil's national team, could have simply celebrated. Instead, he responded to the jeers from local fans by posting a video of his warm-up being whistled on Instagram, captioning it "Thanks for the love, Belém" with a laughing-crying emoji. Earlier, it had already been reported that Neymar announced his retirement from the Brazil national team.
