A verbal agreement is essentially in place. The final details still need to be ironed out, but the paperwork is expected to follow once everything is settled. José Mourinho has also been pushing hard for Vinícius to stay. The forward was a key figure for Los Blancos last season, appearing in 53 matches across all competitions and recording 22 goals and 12 assists. His current deal runs until the summer of 2027. There had been earlier reports that Mikel Arteta was personally trying to persuade Vinícius to join Arsenal.
