Leeds confirm club-record signing of Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford

Leeds have confirmed on their official website that James Trafford has joined from Manchester City. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has signed a five-year contract running until the summer of 2031. The club have not disclosed the fee but say the deal is a record for Leeds. According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is worth £45 million (€52 million). City have also secured a 20 percent sell-on clause and retain the right to re-sign Trafford for the same figure if another club tries to make a move. Trafford made 17 appearances last season, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 13 goals. Leeds had earlier been reported to have completed a £34m deal for Muharemovic.
