Ukraine FA backs UEFA in Infantino row

0
The Ukrainian Association of Football has openly sided with UEFA in its dispute with FIFA president Gianni Infantino. The source of tension is a commercial project pushed by Infantino's team. It was supposed to run through a separate company that would attract private investors and handle commercial rights tied to the World Cup. The idea was later dropped. UAF said the project had been prepared without proper consultation with national associations and without transparent procedures. According to a source, all 55 UEFA member federations currently back the European body in its standoff with Infantino. Another sensitive issue in relations between UAF and FIFA is the participation of Russian teams in international competitions. FIFA has already allowed Russia to play at the U-15 World Cup, scheduled for October in Azerbaijan.
