Manchester United Sell Goalkeeper Vitek to Middlesbrough
0
Manchester United have parted ways with Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek. The 22-year-old moves to Middlesbrough after the Championship club agreed a permanent deal for him.
Vitek first joined United back in 2020, when he was just 16. He came up through the club's youth sides before heading out on loan to build experience.
He spent time at Accrington Stanley and Austrian outfit Blau-Weiss Linz, then enjoyed a breakthrough spell with Bristol City last season. Vitek became the first-choice keeper there and clocked up 41 Championship appearances in total.
The Boro finished fifth in the Championship last campaign. They initially lost to Southampton in the playoffs, but a suspension for the opposition opened the door back into the promotion fight. Middlesbrough then fell 0-1 to Hull City in the final.
So Vitek leaves Old Trafford for good without ever making an official first-team appearance for United.
