Nottingham Forest agree €40m deal for Sporting defender Diomande

Nottingham Forest have reached a final agreement with Sporting Lisbon for central defender Ousmane Diomande. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the deal is worth €40 million.
The move initially hit some obstacles, but it was unblocked and revived this morning, with all the details now resolved. The clubs have shaken hands on the deal, although Diomande will not travel to England for his medical until tomorrow.
The delay is because Diomande remains a key figure for the current Sporting squad and is in the matchday selection for today's opening Portuguese league match against Estrela.
Worth noting: Ousmane Diomande has no family ties to Real Madrid's new arrival, despite sharing the same surname. The two are completely different players.
Last season, he made 41 appearances at club level in all competitions, scoring one goal and adding one assist. He also has one appearance at this year's World Cup for Ivory Coast, against Curaçao (2-0).
