Oleksandr Riabokon did not hide his frustration after Livyi Bereh was held to a 0-0 draw by Kudrivka in the Ukrainian Premier League, admitting the performance was short on quality.
"These are hard times, so we have to get used to it," the head coach said. "It was a real battle, with a lot of fighting and effort. I would have liked better football, first of all from our side. We could have lost, we could have won - there were chances. We'll start with a draw."
Riabokon put the stop-start nature of the game down to air-raid alerts, which created long pauses and cost his team concentration. He still gave his players credit for their discipline, commitment and fighting qualities.
The coach also touched on the disallowed goal, saying he needed to see the replay before judging whether a foul had been committed. He admitted that the set-piece work from training did not always translate into the game.
Livyi Bereh pushed for a winner with attacking substitutions, and Riabokon confirmed that Kovalenko, Kvasnytsia and Nazar Voloshyn were among the debutants. Diego Souza was the most lively of the substitutes, often getting on the ball and having a chance to score, while Kvasnytsia also had a decent opportunity. His quotes were reported by UPL TV.
