Obolon head coach Oleksandr Antonenko said his side got what it needed from a 0:0 draw with Bukovyna in the second round of the Ukrainian Premier League. The result mattered even more after the painful defeat to Epicenter in Kamianets-Podilskyi in the previous round.
Antonenko thanked his players for the response and highlighted the debutants - Barantsov, Matkevych and young Rebrysh. He said the club always works to give young footballers opportunities, and they are taking them well.
The coach also praised goalkeeper Barantsov, who made several important saves to keep Bukovyna out. Antonenko was clear that this was simply part of the job: "A goalkeeper has to make saves, just as a striker has to score goals."
He did not treat the match as a grudge game, describing it as a regular league fixture in which collecting points was the priority. "What kind of points they are is another question. The key was not to lose," Antonenko said.
