Former Shakhtar Midfielder Jadson Arrested on Suspicion of Domestic Violence

Former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson has been arrested in the Brazilian state of Paraná on suspicion of domestic violence, according to Globo Esporte. Investigators say the 42-year-old Brazilian grabbed his partner by the neck during an argument and tried to choke her. The woman was left with marks on her body. She also told police this was not the first time something like this had happened, but she had never filed a complaint before. Jadson is currently being held in a detention center on suspicion of domestic violence and causing bodily harm. His lawyer has asked authorities to release him temporarily, pointing out that Jadson has no previous criminal record and insisting he will not try to evade the investigation. Jadson retired from football in 2022. He played for Shakhtar from 2005 to 2012 and was part of the team that won the UEFA Cup in 2009, scoring the winning goal against Werder.
