Turan: Sometimes managing is not interfering at all

The head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk, Arda Turan, shared his emotions after his team's victory over Epicenter with a score of 2:0 in the framework of the Ukrainian Premier League. In an interview with the club's media, the coach praised the dedication of the football players and explained the key decisions of the coaching staff. According to the specialist, the players demonstrated an incredible level of play, despite the objective difficulties — hot weather, rapid drying of the lawn, which slowed down the movement of the ball, and exhausting logistics. The team had to spend more than six hours on the road after leaving Lviv. "I can't say enough about the team today - the boys were incredible. It's a great level of play! Despite everything, the team showed great defensive balance. The boys really wanted to have the ball and control the game. Congratulations to the team, they were great today!" - said the coach, adding that the players took risks and gave their all at the end of a difficult five-week training period. Separately, Turan focused on the issue of the rotation of the starting eleven. He emphasized that in order to achieve stable results in the conditions of a tight schedule and constant relocations of the club, the maximum depth of the composition and cohesion is necessary. "We cannot immediately release those who have not played before into the starting lineup. That is why we need one team, one family. Alaa, Traore, Ocheretko played today, tomorrow everything may be different. For example, last week, Kawan Elias scored a hat-trick, but today Traore started. We need 24 players who are at the same level," emphasized the Donetsk coach, reminding the players that individual goals are achieved only through overall team success. Interestingly, after a goalless first half, the coaching staff deliberately did not make tactical adjustments in the locker room. Turan explained this by the fact that the team acted correctly and created enough scoring opportunities, which lacked only implementation. "We didn't change anything, we said to continue in the same spirit. I think we acted much better in the first half. Sometimes managing is not interfering at all. The players know how to be a team and win. Sometimes on the field they are even more bossy than I am," the head coach summarized.
