Benfica head coach Marco Silva commented on the situation with Anatoly Trubin, who did not start in the team's starting line-up in the last two matches.
The coach of the Portuguese club assured that he did not notice any dissatisfaction or discomfort on the part of the Ukrainian goalkeeper. According to Silva, Trubin continues to work professionally in training and should focus on his duties.
"The transfer window is open, and while it's open, it's possible to come and go, it's simple. I'm not going to single out one player. I'm talking about the Benfica players, and that's my responsibility. But we've said, and I won't hide it: while the transfer window is open, these opportunities will be on the table.
I don't see any discomfort on Trubin's part. He approaches training seriously every day. He's a player with very distinct character traits, but I don't see any difference between Trubin last week and after last Thursday's game. Absolutely no difference.
All players love to play. If I were a footballer, I would also like to start every match in a Benfica shirt and be a starting player. But it's up to me to decide what the starting line-up will be," said Silva.
The coach also emphasized that he personally spoke with the Ukrainian and did not hear any complaints from him regarding the situation.
"Regarding the issue of discomfort or not, I don't see it at all. I talked to Trubin, there was never any discomfort from his side. Therefore, he should focus on his work - he knows what football is," the coach added.
It should be noted that in the last two matches of Benfica, Trubin remained on the bench.
