Aston Villa came close to the transfer of Palinha

Aston Villa have made significant progress in negotiations over the transfer of Bayern Munich central midfielder Juan Palinha. Bayern are ready to consider the departure of the 31-year-old Portuguese, but the main question remains the format of the deal. Aston Villa would like to rent a footballer, while Munich prefer a full transfer. At the same time, the German club can agree to a temporary transfer, if the financial conditions allow to compensate Palinha's salary and other costs related to his transfer. Bayern bought the midfielder from Fulham for 51 million euros. Palinha spent last season on loan at Tottenham. Before moving to Bayern, the Portuguese proved himself as one of the strongest defensive midfielders in the Premier League during his performances for Fulham. Newcastle are also interested in Palinha, but it is Aston Villa who have made the most progress in negotiations for the experienced midfielder so far.
