Monaco is in talks to terminate Pogba's contract

Monaco are seriously considering terminating the contract of star central midfielder Paul Pogba early. As reported by Le Parisien, the club and representatives of the 33-year-old midfielder are already working on the financial terms of the termination of cooperation. A new injury only worsened the situation. Pogba injured his left thigh during Tuesday morning's training session, but Monaco insist that the question of a possible departure arose before the injury. Pogba joined the Monegasques in June 2025 after serving an 18-month ban for anti-doping violations. The Frenchman signed a two-year contract, but his return to big football turned out to be far from expectations. Due to injuries, the midfielder only made his debut for Monaco in November last year, before being sidelined again for about a month with a calf problem. At the end of last season, Pogba played only six matches, and five times he came off the bench. Back in July, the CEO of Monaco, Thiago Scuro, did not rule out the early departure of the Frenchman. The official admitted that Pogba's first season did not live up to the club's expectations, although he emphasized the positive attitude of the footballer towards the team and the young players. Now the parties are trying to agree on mutual financial compensation and finally stop cooperation. According to a source, Monaco and Pogba's representatives want to complete negotiations before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
