Messi published a touching letter dedicated to his father

Lionel Messi has published a long and very personal letter dedicated to his father. The Argentine admitted that he still cannot comprehend his death and does not know how to continue life without the person who was by his side almost from the beginning of his career. "Dad, I still can't believe you're gone. I can't fathom it. Or rather, I don't want to. It's so hard for me to imagine that I'll never see you again and we'll never talk again," Messi wrote. Lionel's father, Jorge Messi, played a huge role in his son's development as a footballer. It was he who supported Lionel from early years, took him to training after work and did not miss his matches. Jorge was also his agent for a long time and stayed by his side throughout his career. Messi recalled how his father asked him to play in the last World Cup and promised to be there. Before the tournament, Jorge's condition worsened, but Lionel hoped to the last that his father would be able to see his performances. "You were my dad, my friend and my agent. You were always the person you needed to be at every moment and you were never wrong," Messi said. The football player also admitted that he now has serious doubts about his future in football, because it was his father who was by his side the whole way. "I don't know what to do without you. I don't know how to continue. All I did was play football, and now I seriously doubt whether I will continue to do it for much longer," wrote the Argentine. At the end of the letter, Messi thanked his father for everything and promised that he would always stay with him, in particular because of how Lionel raises his own children. "I will miss you so much but you will always be with me. Especially in the way I raise my kids because I teach them what you taught me. Thank you for everything. I love you dad," Lionel concluded.
