Kostyuk: Dynamo lacked neither luck nor skill against Karabakh

0
The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Ihor Kostyuk, commented on his team's defeat in the return match of the third qualifying round of the Conference League against Karabakh (0:2) and elimination from the European Cups. "Karabakh used their opportunities, and that played a key role. You saw: in the second half, we seized the initiative, started to play higher. I think we created three hundred percent chances in which we should have scored. But the game does not forgive missed opportunities: where we did not score, unfortunately, we conceded. In general, in the second half we controlled the game. They moved well from defense to attack, won the ball, went forward quickly, created opportunities. But, unfortunately, today we lacked neither luck nor skill to score those goals. You saw the moments we had. In the first half, you saw that the opposing team played aggressively, covered very tightly. Therefore, we did not want to fight and lose the ball near our own penalty area. They played through Ponomarenko so that he would cling to the balls and help to get out of defense. In the second half, the opponent's team got a little tired, and we started to control the ball more confidently. After 25-30 minutes, we began to act more confidently. I will emphasize once again: the opponent pressed very tightly. Unfortunately, we didn't always confidently get out of this pressure," the club's press service quotes Kostyuk as saying.
