It's official: Fred has returned to Atlético Mineiro

Atlético Mineiro officially announced the return of Fred. The Brazilian midfielder left Fenerbahce and rejoined the club he is a pupil of. The new agreement is calculated until the end of 2029. Fred began his football career in the Atlético Mineiro system, where he spent six years at the youth level. After that, he moved to Internazionale, and later went to Europe, where he played for Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester United and Fenerbahce. It was as part of Shakhtar that the Brazilian won the largest number of team trophies - three championships of Ukraine, three Cups of Ukraine and two Super Cups of Ukraine. At Manchester United, he also won the English League Cup in the 2022/23 season. At the international level, Fred played 32 matches for Brazil and participated in two World Cups - 2018 and 2022. According to the media, the transfer from Fenerbahce will cost Athletic Mineiro 2 million euros, another 500,000 euros can be provided as bonuses. After 13 years of professional career and appearances in Europe, Fred returns to the club where he started his football journey. In the new team, he will play under number 7.
