Christian Romero said goodbye to Tottenham before moving to Atletico

Christian Romero has addressed Tottenham fans with a farewell message ahead of his expected move to Atletico. The Argentinian defender spent five seasons with the London club, and was its captain last year. "Today I say goodbye to a place that for five seasons was much more than just a club for me. It was my home, my challenge and the place where my family and I built such an important part of our lives. I leave him with a heart full of memories and with great pride for all that we have experienced and achieved together. When I came here, I had a clear dream: to leave my name in the history of this club. I knew that the only way to get there was through hard work, sacrifice, and achieving what had for so long seemed overwhelming: to once again lift the trophy above my head. And we did it. Our path wasn't perfect, but I don't want that to define my goodbye. I choose to remember the happy moments, the lessons learned, the people who were there for me, and most of all, the love I received during those five years. Thank you to everyone in the club who walked this path with me. Coaches, teammates, staff, and everyone behind the scenes, you are all a part of my story and hold a place in my heart. And goodbye, Tottenham," wrote Christian Romero on Instagram. Tottenham are expected to receive around 35 million pounds for the transfer of the Argentine centre-back. During his time in North London, Romero made 156 appearances in all competitions, scored 13 goals, provided 7 assists and won the Europa League.
