Shishchenko: I take full responsibility

As part of the 3rd round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Chernivtsi Bukovyna suffered an away defeat against Lviv Carpathians (0:3). At the post-match press conference, the head coach of the yellow and black Serhii Shishchenko frankly commented on the result, admitting the unsuccessful start of the game and taking all the blame for the outcome of the meeting on himself. According to the mentor, the key part of the match was its beginning. The team could not properly enter the game, which determined the further development of events on the field. "I take full responsibility today. I apologize to the fans for those first 15 minutes of the match. And in principle, I believe that we lost in those first 15 minutes, because what happened next... I liked it," Serhii Shishchenko said after the game. The coach emphasized that during the next 75 minutes, Bukovyna demonstrated high-quality football, created many problems for the opponent and sometimes even dominated the field. Shishchenko is convinced that his team created more difficulties for the Carpathians than their previous rivals - Kryvbas and LNZ. Despite a good game in the main part of the match, Bukovyna again remained without scored goals — this trend continues for the third round in a row after the team's return to the elite division. Shishchenko explained that the team is working a lot on the final stage of attacks, but currently the players lack the quality of execution in crucial moments. The coach noted that Kozhushko, Ilyin, Putrya and Wojtykhovbroadcaster had opportunities to score, but the ball stubbornly did not go into the net. "We lack quality and understanding of exactly where and at what moment to hit. We are working very hard on this component," the specialist emphasized. Despite the difficulties, the head coach remains optimistic and believes in the team's potential. For Bukovyna, which returned to the UPL after a 32-year break, this season is historic. Shishchenko is sure that if the level of play is maintained, as in the match with Obolon and in the second part of the confrontation with the Carpathians, the long-awaited goals and victories will surely come. Shishchenko's wards will play their next match against Niva from Ternopil in the 1/32 finals of the Cup of Ukraine. The match is scheduled for August 22, starting at 15:00.
