Danish midfielder Morten Jullmann moved from Sporting Lisbon to Atletico Madrid this summer for 40 million euros + 5 million euros in bonuses. The newcomer of "Matrasniki" gave a long interview the day before, in which he told several interesting facts from his own biography. "I think my playing profile suits this club because I'm a passionate, leadership-oriented player, so I think I can easily adapt to the way Atlético play. The captain's armband? I don't know, maybe I was very open to get to know other players well, both off the field and during training and matches. I think that's why they saw me as a kind of leader in the team. Of course, I am grateful to my coaches for these decisions, because they helped me become who I am today. But I think my desire to be myself was the final push that led them to choose me as team captain. I also have a good command of five languages. I think if I lived in Denmark and you came to my country and tried to learn my language, I would respect you more because you would try to adapt to the country you live in. I've always had this mentality wherever I play: learn the language and the culture as quickly as possible. And I will do the same in Spain. Of course, Sporting is a very big club in Portugal, but Atletico can also be considered as such. I wanted to play here, to be part of Atlético's history. That's my goal here. I already said during my presentation that I am now living my dream: to be part of the Atlético family. And this is where I see myself for many years. Of course, Koke is a great example for me, because he is always active on the field, always wants to control everything, and when he receives the ball, he already knows where to give it. So he's a big inspiration and that's the best thing about being at Atletico: playing with players you can learn from. Arsenal logo tattoo? I was an Arsenal fan when I was a kid, but I don't have that tattoo anymore - I got it done. This is part of my past. After I turned professional, when I moved to Austria, my attitude towards cheerleading changed radically, because I found myself in the professional world already as a player. So I don't follow the club like I used to because now I'm a professional. But yes, last season Atletico were very close to knocking Arsenal out of the Champions League and we hope to achieve our goal in this tournament already in the new season," said the Danish performer. We will remind that in three years at Sporting, Morten played 141 matches, received the captain's armband, scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists.
