Kostyuk: We survived the match physically

The head coach of Dynamo Kyiv Ihor Kostyuk summed up the results of the winning match against Kovaliv Kolos (2:1). At the post-match press conference, the coach of the white-blue team noted the character of the team, which managed to withstand the physical load and get three points despite accumulated fatigue. Preparations for the match with Kolos took place against the background of a complex logistical schedule and intense matches on the international stage. According to Kostyuk, the team successfully coped with this challenge. "We played two difficult matches with Karabakh - one in Lublin, the other in Baku, in between they played against Veres. In total, we played a tour of four matches. Seven players who played in Baku made it to today's squad. We endured the match physically, and emotionally the team understood that it was necessary to rebuild," the coach said. Kostyuk emphasized that the opponent was objectively fresher because of the two-week break, but thanks to the good microclimate in the locker room and the right setting, the Kyivans were able to win naturally, even after conceding a ball. Separately, the head coach commented on the condition of defender Oleksandr Tymchyk, who was injured. The exact degree of seriousness of the injury will be known only after a detailed medical diagnosis. A long-awaited two-week break awaits the team ahead, which the coaching staff plans to use for a complete reboot. The players will have the opportunity to recover after two months of constant moving and spend time with their relatives. The team will be able to return to full training and complete a program that previously had to be shortened due to lack of time. Individual players who need loading will play for the U21 team in the match against Kolos. On the eve of the closing of the summer transfer window (September 5), the issue of strengthening the squad remains relevant. Ihor Kostyuk confirmed that the club management does not stop the search for new players: "We are working in this direction. I can't say anything specific about it at the moment," summed up the head coach of Dynamo Kyiv.
