Busquets returned to Barcelona

Sergio Busquets took the first step in his new career, signing an agreement to work as an assistant coach of Barcelona B. The former Catalans midfielder will work closely with Juliano Belletti while simultaneously completing the process of obtaining a coaching license. The 39-year-old midfielder is one of the most decorated players in the history of the club. A graduate of La Masia's academy, he made his first-team debut in 2008 under Pep Guardiola and immediately became a key figure in midfield, becoming a symbol of the legendary tiki-taka system. In over a decade and a half in a Barcelona shirt, Busquets won every possible trophy at club level: three Champions Leagues, nine La Liga titles, seven Copa del Reys and a host of other accolades. He was also a key player in the Spanish national team, with which he became the world champion in 2010 and European champion in 2012. After his Barcelona contract expires in 2023, Busquets continued his MLS career with Inter Miami, where he played alongside Lionel Messi, before announcing his retirement from the game.
