Newcastle are ahead of Aston Villa in the race for Nkunku

Newcastle United have become favorites in the race for AC Milan striker Christopher Nkunku. According to Sport Mediaset, the English club is ahead of Aston Villa and is ready to offer around 30 million euros for the 28-year-old Frenchman. Nkunku himself is interested in a return to the Premier League after losing his place in Milan's plans. The new head coach of the Italian team, Ruben Amorim, excluded the forward from the team, and after the pre-season tour, the footballer was even suspended from training with the first team. Nkunku moved to Milan just a year ago from Chelsea for €37m plus bonuses. In his debut season, the Frenchman played 35 matches in all competitions and scored eight goals. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2030. In addition to Newcastle and Aston Villa, Roma, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig were previously monitoring the situation around the attacker. At the same time, the Magpies are currently in the best position to complete the deal. Milan are interested in selling Nkunku as they seek funds to further strengthen their squad. In particular, the Italians plan to spend at least 50 million euros, including bonuses, on Strasbourg winger Diego Moreira. Also, the club is working on other transfer operations, which should help to form a budget for new football players. One of them is the potential transfer of Rodrigo Mora from Porto, after which the Portuguese will be able to complete the transfer of Santiago Jimenez.
