The striker of Dynamo Kyiv in the European Cups moved to Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund officially announced the signing of 23-year-old Greek PAOK midfielder Yannis Constantelias. The transfer cost the Bumblebee a solid 26 million euros, and the player signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2031. However, this high-profile transition could not take place due to the categorical position of the fans of the club from Thessaloniki. The star's move to Germany was accompanied by a real scandal. When Constantelias flew to Dortmund for a medical, he was intercepted by one of the radical PAOK fans just at the local airport. He forced the football player to join a video call with other fans, demanding an explanation of the reasons for such a decision. It is currently unknown whether the fan was able to hear the desired excuses. Meanwhile, in Thessaloniki itself, the ultras staged a picket outside the club's head office, demanding the cancellation of the sale of the team leader. It is worth noting that last year the fans already managed to disrupt the transfer of Yannis to Stuttgart. However, this time Borussia's offer turned out to be too financially attractive for the PAOK management to refuse, and the protests did not lead to anything. Constantelias was remembered by Ukrainian fans as a real offender of Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League qualifiers. It was the 23-year-old Greek who played a key role in Kyiv's exit from the tournament at the second round stage. In the first leg, which ended in a 3-2 victory for the Greeks, Constantelias scored an important goal to equalize the score. In the return match, the midfielder finally buried the hopes of the white and blue team, scoring a winning double (2:0). It is interesting that after the passage of "Dynamo" PAOK's path to the European Cup was also difficult. In the next round, the Greeks encountered serious resistance from the Belgian Anderlecht and lost with a total score of 2:4. Already this Thursday, PAOK will fight for the right to play in the Conference League in a match against Norwegian Brann. As for Dynamo, after the relegation from the Greeks, the Kyiv team suffered another fiasco in the confrontation with the Azerbaijani Karabakh.
