Ipswich completed the transfers of Enciso and Ouattara from Strasbourg

English Ipswich Town officially announced the signing of two football players from French Strasbourg at once - winger Julio Enciso and midfielder Abdul Ouattara. The 22-year-old Paraguayan and the 20-year-old Ivorian signed five-year contracts with the club. The total value of this double transfer, including all bonuses, could reach a solid £47.3 million. An important factor in the transition was that both players are already very familiar with the demands of head coach Gary O'Neill, under whom they recently worked in France. It is a long-awaited return to Portman Road for Julio Enciso, who previously spent three years in the Brighton system. He played the second half of the 2024/2025 season for Ipswich on loan, after which he moved to Strasbourg. "I'm so excited to be back at Ipswich Town. I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club and was happy to see them back to the Premier League last season. I worked with the manager in France last season and I'm really excited to be playing for him again at a great club like Pswich," the Paraguayan winger commented on his transfer. For his part, Abdul Ouattara comes with a good European Cup background. He has played 45 matches for Strasbourg in the top division of France, as well as participation in the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League last season. "I'm still young but already have good experience and I can't wait to meet the fans and my teammates to start my journey here," said the Ivorian. After being promoted from the Championship last season, the Ipswich management are showing serious intentions to establish themselves in the elite. The club has already spent around 150 million pounds on strengthening the squad. The signings of Enciso and Ouattara bring the number of key summer signings to twelve. A rejuvenated Ipswich will open their Premier League season on August 22 at home to Sunderland.
