During the incident, Hassan was also at the epicenter of events. A video circulating on social media shows the coach suddenly losing consciousness. After that, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Currently, the condition of the 60-year-old specialist is assessed as stable. The police are also investigating the incident. Hassan's first wife, Khawaida Al-Gharbawi, initially filed a statement about the incident, but later withdrew it.
Hassan has two wives - Hawaida Al-Gharbawi, whom he married in 1994, and Dana Adam, whom he married about 20 years later. Polygamy is legal in Egypt.
The incident happened shortly after the successful performance of the Egyptian national team at the 2026 World Cup. Under the leadership of Hassan, the team reached the playoffs of the World Cup for the first time in its history, where, after defeating Australia, they lost to Argentina at the 1/8 final stage.
