"I'm fine!": Musiala explained the reason for repeated fainting spells during matches

Jamal Musiala commented on the repeated incident during Bayern's friendly match against Heidenheim (4:2). The 23-year-old midfielder came on as a substitute, but after four minutes he lost consciousness and was forced to leave the field with the help of medics.
This happened for the second time in three days. On August 15, Musiala also fainted during a sparring match against Leipzig (3:1). After the new incident, the football player decided to personally address the fans and explain the situation.
"First of all, I'm fine! I'm especially grateful for your messages and support! I understand that many of you are worried. Today I want to dispel those fears and explain something to you.
I was diagnosed with short-term absences that periodically occur, but are well treated. They are associated with neurological dysfunction. They may be the reason for the recent episodes - both in the match against Leipzig and now in Heidenheim.
I know it might seem scary at first, but for me it's part of everyday life now. I am receiving the best medical treatment and am very optimistic. Bayern and my close circle are always by my side and support me on this path.
It is important that there is no other health risk. In close coordination and constant communication with specialists, I personally decided to accept this challenge and, after the permission of the neurologists, continue to do what helps me the most in my recovery: simply living my normal life and continuing to pursue my passion - playing football. I took responsibility for it. Overall I feel very good and on the right track.
What helps me the most is being able to continue chasing wins and titles with my team and with your incredible support. I hope you understand me better now. At the same time, please understand that in the future I want to keep this topic within the circle of my closest people, the club and specialists.
Thank you Your Jay,” wrote Jamal Musiala on his Instagram.
The German made 24 appearances for Bayern last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists. He also played four matches for the German national team at the 2026 World Cup.
